How to: Add Surgeon-Specific Comments

Modified on Mon, 8 Jul at 2:41 PM

Surgeon-specific comments serve as invaluable nuggets of insight, tailoring protocols to individual preferences and optimizing workflow efficiency.

To incorporate these targeted comments, simply navigate to the protocol where you wish to include a surgeon-specific insight. Let's use the OR Setup as an example. Go to the OR Setup tab and click on the three dots next to the patient. Select Edit. For now, we'll now insert a comment for the Left arm. Click 'Add comment'.

Then, designate the surgeon to whom this comment applies. Jot down the surgeon-specific insight and click 'Add'. Afterward, click 'Add new comment' and then 'Close' at the top right. Well done, you've successfully included a surgeon-specific comment!

You can easily see when a surgeon-specific comment has been added through the Assist Manager, as illustrated in the screenshot below.

You can follow the same steps outlined above to add surgeon-specific comments for the Information tab, Draping, and Surgical Steps. Interested in creating a surgeon-specific material list? Read on!

Head to the materials section of the protocol and click 'Add list'. Choose the surgeon for whom you'd like to create a material list. The default material list is automatically included in your surgeon-specific list. To add a new material tailored to that surgeon, click '+Add Custom Material' and complete the required details. Click 'Add'. Voila! You've now appended a new material to a surgeon-specific material list. Reminder: You need to add one custom item per list for your surgeon list to save.

Now that you're familiar with adding these tailored insights and materials, you're well-equipped to customize protocols to individual surgeon preferences and streamline workflow efficiency. Keep these steps handy, and continue to perfect your protocols within the Incision Assist Manager.
