Step-by-step guide: How to add information to devices in the 3D OR environment

Follow the steps below to add information (a video/document/link) to a device in the Incision Assist Manager:

  • Go to the Incision Assist Manager and click ‘Materials’ (1). Add a new device by clicking the ‘+ new material’ (2), or select an existing device in the ‘other’ tab (3a/3b).

  • Add the documents you want to display in the app to the device. Click on the link icon in the ‘Instructions’ field, and insert the PDF or YouTube link (4 and 5). You can also upload a document via the upload icon (6).

  • Scroll down. Select 'Item Type' as 'Other' (7). Fill in 'Subtype' as ‘Devices’ (8). Now the option 'Device Type' (9) appears. Here you can do two things:

  • Option 1: Select a device that is already standard in the list of the 3D model. This will automatically add all information to ALL protocols where this device is included in the 3D model.

  • Option 2: Create a name for this device type yourself and add it to the 3D model as a bonus device.

  • Click on 'Save' (10).

Did you choose Option 1? You don’t have to do anything else. The information will be automatically added to all protocols where this device is included in the 3D model.

Did you choose Option 2? Follow these steps to add the Custom Device to the 3D model:

  • Go to the OR 3D Model of the procedure you want to add the device to.

  • Click on ‘+ Add item’ (11), and select ‘Custom Device’ (12).

  • Change the name (13) and add the newly created device type (14).

  • Click on ‘Save’ (15). DoNew editor feature NL + ENG (30)n’t forget to publish the protocol so it’s visible in the app!
