Modified on Mon, 31 Mar at 11:11 AM

This guide explains how to add specialists to the Incision Assist App and create surgeon-specific protocols or preference cards.

Adding Surgeons to the Specialist Section

Before assigning surgeons to protocols, you must first add them to the specialist section.

Steps to Add a Surgeon:

  1. Navigate to the Specialist Section:

    • In the left-hand menu, select Specialist.

  1. Click "+ New Specialist" on the top right of your screen:

    • This opens a form to enter the surgeon’s details.

  1. Fill Out Required Fields:

    • Ensure the Family Name and Specialty fields are completed; these are mandatory.

    • Add other relevant information as needed.

  1. Save the Specialist:

    • Once all information is entered, click Save Specialist.

Editing or Deleting an Existing Specialist:

If you need to update or delete a surgeon’s information:

  1. Locate the surgeon in the Specialist section.

  2. Click the three dots on the right-hand side.

  3. Select Edit and make your changes, or click Delete to delete the specialist

  4. After you have edited the specialist, click Save Specialist to ensure updates are stored.

Creating Surgeon-Specific Protocols or Lists

Now that your surgeons are added, you can create surgeon-specific protocols or preference cards.

Steps to Create a Surgeon-Specific Protocol:

  1. Navigate to the Protocols Section:

    • In the left-hand menu, select Protocols.

  2. Search for the Procedure:

    • Identify the protocol for the procedure you want to customize.

    • Tip: Creating a strong foundation begins with the standard. A surgeon-specific list will automatically copy the standard protocol, so it’s best to finalize the standard version first. Then, you can easily tailor it to match the specific needs or preferences of individual surgeons.

  3. Add the Surgeon to the Protocol:

    • Open the procedure.

    • In the left-hand menu, click "+ Add Surgeon".

    • Use the search bar to find and select the appropriate surgeon.

  1. Customize the Surgeon-Specific Protocol:

    • Once added, the surgeon-specific list is automatically copied from the standard protocol.

    • Navigate through the left-hand menu within the surgeon-specific list to update materials, OR setup, or any other details.

Finalizing the Surgeon-Specific Protocol:

  1. Review all edits.

  2. Save your changes.

  3. Click Publish to make the protocol available in the Incision Assist app.

By following these steps, you can efficiently create and manage surgeon-specific protocols, ensuring your team is always prepared with precise and up-to-date information.
